Troubleshooting and Optimization Guide for Plastic Screw Assembly
Plastic fasteners have poorer toughness than metal screws. Tiny parameter error during assembly easily causes defective products, especially when matching plastic housing and PCB boards.
1. Cracking Issue Solution
Excessive torque, undersized hole and low ambient temperature lead to cracking. Reduce torque by 15%-25%, enlarge pilot hole properly and preheat parts before assembly in cold workshop.
2. Cam-Out Improvement
Replace worn driver bits regularly. Adopt glass-fiber reinforced plastic screws to increase surface hardness and avoid slot slipping.
3. Thermal Deformation Control
High rotating speed produces friction heat and causes softening. Slow down screwdriver speed and select high-temperature resistant PC or reinforced nylon screws near hot equipment.
4. Anti-Loosening Measure
Thermal expansion and contraction reduces preload. Choose serrated anti-loosening plastic screws or apply small amount of low-strength thread locker for vibrating working condition.
