Industry News: Rising Insulation & Corrosion‑Resistance Requirement Expands Adoption of peek / PI / ceramic Non‑Metallic Fasteners

Certain equipment chambers forbid metallic fasteners and demand combined performance of insulation, non‑magnetic property, chemical resistance or high‑temperature endurance. Ordinary pa66 nylon has limited performance. High‑grade non‑metallic fasteners such as peek, PI polyimide and zirconiaceramic gain wider adoption in semiconductor, chemical‑processing and medical‑instrument industries.

Application‑Scenario Features

Semiconductor vacuum chamber: Prefer low‑outgassing PEEK or PI to avoid metal‑particle contamination; raw‑material purity shall be emphasized.

Chemical corrosion equipment: ptfe is preferred for strong acid‑base contact. Note ptfe features low mechanical strength and shall not be used under high pre‑load.

Medical instruments: Medical‑grade PEEK is adopted for contact parts; biocompatibility documents shall be available.

Common Procurement Notes

  • Distinguish material grades. Ordinary nylon cannot substitute PEEK / PI, which would cause rapid thermal deformation at high temperature;
  • Ceramic fasteners are brittle; plastic‑screw torque parameters cannot be directly reused;
  • Specify batch‑tied material and compliance documents for export projects; generic template certificates are not acceptable.

Driven by special‑equipment iteration, raw‑material grade control, molding craftsmanship and physical‑property testing become key evaluation indicators for non‑metallic fastener suppliers.
