ZrO2 Ceramic Fastener Application Guide

ZrO2 (zirconia) ceramic fasteners are the most extreme non-metallic fasteners, providing reliable connections where both plastics and metals fail.

Key Properties

  • Ultra-high temperature: continuous up to 1000°C
  • MRI compatible: completely non-magnetic
  • Electrical insulation: excellent dielectric properties
  • Chemical inertness: resists almost all chemicals
  • Biocompatible: suitable for medical devices

Applications

  • Medical equipment: MRI machine internal fasteners
  • Semiconductor fabrication: fasteners in high-temperature process chambers
  • High-temperature furnaces: kilns and heat treatment (>300°C)
  • Vacuum systems: low outgassing, high cleanliness
  • Corrosive environments: strong acid and alkali

Notes

Ceramic fasteners are hard but brittle. Control torque during installation and avoid impact loads. Ceramic-specific tools recommended.
